His Ways - Isaiah 55:8
In yesterday's #CornerstoneVerseOfTheDay I talked about the gospel and got into how God has worked from the beginning. Some reject God's way because they don't like it. That doesn't matter, He is the Creator of all and therefore the master of all.
It's like you working for the boss of a ranch. You don't own the ranch, you didn't pay for it, you didn't build it, therefore you have no say in it. You can't go to the boss and tell Him how to run things, your job is to do the work of the boss. The same is with the Lord.
It goes for our horses as well. One thing I have learned is that each and every horse is a created being. A good horse cannot be made, it is born. Therefore, the horse truly belongs to the Creator. As horsemen it is our job to see that horse as it is and work with it. We can't force a race horse to be a plow horse and we can't get a plow horse to run down a cow. That is not what they were created to do. They are not for us to change; they are entrusted into our care.
I have to say too, that once you understand God and His ways it does make sense. Once you get to know the Lord you can't help but champion for His ways. But His ways are not man's ways and therefore we cannot judge them according to our knowledge. Dr. G. Charles Jackson has been known to describe our view of the world is like watching a parade through a hole in the fence. All we can see is what is in front of us, we can't see what had come before or what had come after. In that same way is how we are in the life. We didn't get to see what came before us and we will not see what has come after us, all we know is what is in front of us and that is not enough evidence to judge all of history and a God who is outside of this world.
To remedy this, we must read His Word, the Bible, to get to know Him and let Him reveal His ways to us. It is an endeavor worth every moment you give it. I also recommend offering a quick prayer beforehand asking the Lord to reveal Himself to you and giving you understanding of what you read. It may not all make sense at once, but the more effort you put in, the more you will get out.
