Trust in the Lord
Trust Him, believe Him, rely on Him, cling to His promises. When we read His word we need to take it as truth and trust it. He has never once uttered a single word that He did not fulfil with the exception of prophecies yet to be filled. But His track record is pretty solid. He has never given a promise that He hasn't made true, from the rainbow in the sky in Genesis, to promising to never leave us nor forsake us at the end of Matthew. The book of Revelation is full of His promises yet to come true and I believe every one of them. Do you? If not ask Him to help you believe, trust, rely, and cling to Him.
With all your Heart
You've heard of a horse with a lot of heart, right? A horse that has a lot of try and is eager to please. We should be the same when it comes to the Lord. We cannot compartmentalize Him, He wants all of us. Just like a horse can't say, "I'll listen to my rider at this time, but when it's this time, I'm doing my own thing." That doesn't work in riding, and it will never work in life. We don't add the Lord to our life in certain areas, we surrender all to Him.
Lean not on Your Own Understanding
Anytime we let a horse think for themselves they will always go off script because they don't know our plan. The same is for us. When we begin to think for our selves, we always get into trouble and move away from the Lord's plan. Don't rely on your own understanding of the world, we all have a skewed view. (1 Corinthians 13:12)
In all Your Ways Acknowledge Him
No in some ways, not one way and not another. No, in ALL your ways acknowledge Him. He is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and He wants to make you a son or daughter of Him. How do we get there? By acknowledging Him. Romans 1:18-32 speaks of what happens to those who do not acknowledge Him. I'd rather reap the benefits of Revelation 21 and 22. Genesis 1 through Revelation 20 tell us how to achieve that. Listen and obey.
He Will Make Your Path Straight
I heard this portion of this verse explained as "He will make your lifestyle upright." That is what this is saying, that when we trust in Him, relinquish our own understanding, and acknowledge (submit to) Him, He will make us like oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord, for the display of His splendor (Isaiah 61:3b). We are His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20).
You may be the only Bible someone reads; will you be inviting to our Lord? Or will you turn people away from our Lord? With His help as described in the #CornerstoneVerseOfTheDay it is not too tall of an order to fill. You must resolve yourself to not defile yourself by the things of the world (Daniel 1:8). Put to death the desires of the flesh (Romans 8:13) so you can live by the Spirit of Life.
