Proverbs 31:10 Cowgirl Version
In 2012 we founded the #CornerstoneFellowshipMinistry. Our first group we ministered to were 7th-12th grade girls and we called them the #VirtuousCowgirls. We based the name on the Proverbs 31 Woman and overtime we made a cowgirl version of Proverbs 31:10-31. We will spend the next several days looking at the Virtuous Cowgirl.
A woman of virtue, who can find? Her worth is far more than rubies. Proverbs 31:10
First thing we all need to understand is that this entire passage was written for a man. This passage is the standard for which men were to measure women to be able to choose an excellent wife. So do not feel that you have to live up to each and every description. We should strive to be like the Virtuous Cowgirl in every way, but no one is perfect. Look to her to know how to live your life.
A Virtuous Cowgirl is hard to find. They are a rare thing and stand out among all the others, and yet, you have to look for them. In the original translation it says that they are worth far more than rubies. A ruby is much rarer than a diamond, in the same way that a cowgirl of virtue is rare, but her value makes the value of a ruby pale in comparison.
In the cowboy's world they strive for a champion buckle, but a cowgirl of virtue is worth more than all the champion buckles out there. When a cowboy has a virtuous cowgirl to work beside him, he doesn't need a buckle to tell him he is a winner.
Be that woman, be a man's prize, and you will always know your worth. Click here to learn more about the Cornerstone Fellowship Ministry and the Virtuous Cowgirls.
